Hemp oil
Hemp oil is a vegetable oil of which CBD is the main ingredient.
Another name for hemp oil is: CBD oil. CBD is widely praised for its medicinal properties.
More and more shops are offering hemp oil. Many of these stores cannot guarantee the quality of the hemp oil. In addition, they offer the oil under different names. On this page we explain clearly what exactly is which oil.
If you are looking for reliable and good quality hemp oil, then you have come to the right place.
Reliable hemp oil
Our hemp oil is provided with the correct quality reports. These quality reports are provided by accredited laboratories that have tested our hemp oil for purity.
An accredited laboratory is a laboratory that can call itself accredited after approval by the Council for Accreditation (RvA). The approval of the RvA is based on very strict – often international – requirements.
In this way you know exactly what is and what is not processed in our hemp oil. Due to our transparent working method, we can provide you with the very best quality hemp oil.
The difference between hemp oil and THC oil
For both hemp oil and THC oil (weed oil) the hemp plant* forms the basis, but that is where the similarities end. Hemp oil and THC oil contain different substances. This is probably best explained by comparing the production process of hemp oil and that of THC oil.
*Hemp is the name for all plant species and tree species in the hemp family (Cannabaceae) and not for a plant itself. Hemp includes (industrial) hemp plants, cannabis plants, hop plants (beer), but also whip trees and European nettle trees.
Production THC oil
For the production of THC oil, the flower tops of a certain type of cannabis plant that contains a lot of THC are used.
The flower tops contain the highest concentrations of THC. For THC oil, cannabis varieties with a high concentration of THC are used.
Through a process in which grinding and heating play a role, concentrated paste is produced from the flower tops. That is pasta with a concentration of sometimes 50% THC.
That is too high a concentration for many. That is why the concentrated THC paste is diluted with hemp seed oil, olive oil, MCT oil, or another vegetable oil. In this way THC oil is created with a much lower concentration of THC (2% to 20%).
Hemp oil production
For the production of hemp oil (CBD oil), flower tops from the industrial hemp plant are used, which contain hardly any THC, but a lot of CBD.
The industrial hemp plant is a type of cannabis plant. The biggest difference with the cannabis plant mentioned above, which contains a lot of THC, is that the industrial hemp plant only contains a very small amount of THC (0,2%). This amount is so low that the hemp oil (CBD oil) is therefore legal.
Difference hemp seed oil and hemp oil
In addition to hemp oil, there is also hemp seed oil.
For the production of hemp seed oil, the seeds of the hemp plant are used and not the flower tops.
The seeds of the hemp plant contain virtually no CBD or THC. Hemp seed oil is produced by cold pressing of seeds. As a result, all substances from the seeds are preserved.
Hemp seed oil is primarily made for use in cooking. In this sense, hemp seed oil is similar to other vegetable oils such as olive oil, sunflower oil, sesame oil, coconut oil, etc. Due to its nutty smell, hemp oil is most similar to walnut oil. Hemp seed oil is delicious on a salad, in a smoothie or as the base of a dipping sauce.
Furthermore, hemp seed oil is also used in care products such as hand creams, face creams, ointment, shampoo, body lotion, conditioner, etc.
Finally, hemp seed oil is also sometimes used as a dietary supplement. However, this is not about pure hemp seed oil, but about hemp seed oil to which CBD has been added after pressing.
